introducing kitten to outside.

I'm probably being very pfb about this but bear with me!
Kitten is 18 weeks...vaccinated but not neutered yet-she will be after Christmas. She's the most lovely thing and am totally in love with her

Have started sitting on the back step and letting her have a little look outside and she's keen but is literally just by my feet having a sniff and a walk around..just done it a couple of times so far for about 5 mins.
Now I'm wondering if this is too soon? She's in the small side for her age and obviously I can't be sure but I don't think she'll run of if I'm there..she's very well bonded responds to a clicker etc but DP has given me the fear and now I'm thinking I shouldn't show her outside again until she's more close to being ready to go out properly.

It's advisable to keep her in until she's been neutered. She's old enough to come into season, and if she gets the scent of the local tom...

I'd keep her in until after she's been neutered. She sounds snack sized

Thanks guys I'll try and keep her in then. Definitely would not want her get upduffed. Are those cat harnesses any good for a stroll round the garden?

She's so petite, like a little china cat. She's very beautiful.

I wouldn't bother with a harness, 3/3 cats of mine have hated them.

Aww thanks yes she's gorgeous...yep sure she wouldn't like a harness she's a feisty girl :)

We tried a harness on Morph... it was not a success..he simply tangled himself up like a ball of string at every step!

Wait til she is neutered and then start going out with her:) I let mine into the garden (enclosed) at 4 months (both neutered) and at 6 months they are going out the front.. but only for an hour before work and an hour after ..not going out late til next spring! They come running for dreamies...

It's a shame they don't tend to be happy in the harness but understandable really! I'll keep her in for another couple of months..a very mean cat lives next door ( although he has no teeth) so I wouldn't want her to have a run in with him.
