My cat is missing

He's very old , not like him to be away for longer than about eight hours. Has been gone since Friday so I'm hoping he hasn't gone away to die

I'm so sorry. Have you checked with the neighbours yet? I found mine in next doors shed. I hope he's home soon.

Not yet - I'm hoping he's camping out somewhere. I will go and see them first thing.

Are you absolutely sure he's outside and not, for example, at the back of a cupboard under the stairs?

So sorry to hear this. Definitely check with the neighbours tomorrow and see if he has got himself shut in somewhere. How old is he?

Mine went missing earlier this year and I did the whole facebook/twitter/flyers through doors thing. Notified everyone I could think of. In the end he came back of his own accord, although he was a lot younger than your boy. It was a very worrying time - I do feel for you.

Yes he definitely went out - he has a very loud miaow as well. I have shared his pic on FB , the neighbours all know him as well. He does have a friend of a black and white cat so hoping he's gone for a visit. Thanks for your good wishes everyone. X

No sign this morning and none of the neighbours I've seen him. They are going to have a search round. I have been in our garage , daughters playhouse etc but no clues. Going to ring the PDSA etc this afternoon

He is still not back , but on a slightly positive note his chip hasn't been scanned anywhere, nor has the dog warden picked up any cat bodies.
Come home !

Cats Protection lent me a trap and I caught my AWOL cat within an hour after he'd been missing for a week.

Someone about 10 mins drive away has been feeding a black cat for the last few days. Have been up for a scout around but she's going to call if he comes back . Fingers crossed.

What about the other black cat? Are they going to get it checked for a chip?. It's too cold to sleep out at the moment.

We aren't sure if that black cat was him yet if that makes sense. The lady has bought some food to try to tempt it into her carrier if it does turn out to be a different cat. She feeds strays and takes them for a scan .
