Cat toys please!

Girlcat has become very much a house cat now it's turned colder & her brother went missing. We do have a few balls, mouse toys, scratch tree & feather toys but I'm looking to get her a few gifts for Xmas.

So recommendations please for some good fun cat toys? The more that promote exercise the better, especially as she's only 1 & can be very playful. Not looking to spend more than an £10.

TIA Flowers

We've just had the Amazing Flying Frenzy Cat Toy delivered this morning because someone recommend it here a few days ago. OMG my kitten has gone crazy for it and literally flies through the air after the feathers on the wand. We got the extra long wand and it is fantastic. You can clip off the feathers and clip on other toys in the range too. I found it hard to play with my kitten before but this wand has changed everything!

Here it is : www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/shop/best-cat-toys/cat-toys-Interactive/Flying-Frenzy-Wand-Cat-Toy
You can get refills for when the feathers get knackered too.

Seconding the flying frenzy/da bird reccomendation.
I've had my da bird for six years now, it has to be kept shut in my wardrobe or the cats would be forever dragging it around, just the sound of the metal clip on the pole sends them crazy.
Each of my three cats has their favourite attachment so try a few out!

MinimalistMommi · 22/11/2014 19:16

Rugbugs I can't decide which attatchment to buy next? The mouse looks good fun! Does that get dragged along the floor more then up in the air like the feathers because of the weight?

RugBugs · 22/11/2014 20:12

The mouse is my boys favourite! It's been the most durable for me too. Yes, it doesn't fly and twirl like the feathers so I use it close to the floor.
The faux fur is a hit too but it gets a bit grotty after they've caught (and chewed) it a few times.

RubbishMantra · 23/11/2014 14:25

My boys go particularly mad for the wriggly worm refill.

givemushypeasachance · 23/11/2014 19:45

Thirding the Flying Frenzy - both my boys love the feathers, then they have other attachments they prefer to different degrees; one loves the mousey, catch and chew kinds and one likes the ribbons and dangly things more. The worm is super-popular but mine has been chewed half to death so really needs replacing; it's quite delicate.

Issuing my traditional recommendation of boinks - I'm not on commission, honest! They are the #1 toy in my house - spring them across the room and the boys can't help but chase them, they love batting them around and juggling them and carrying them about in their mouths. Hawkins Bazaar sell them in the pocket money toys section too.

RubbishMantra · 24/11/2014 17:43

Just got this from Amazon.

It has a very life-like squeak that goes off when touched. MKitten hasn't put it down, he's been running round the house with it in his mouth, looking like a proper little predator! Lots of delighted pouncing and batting. He loves it!!

MinimalistMommi · 24/11/2014 20:52

Thank you Rubbish I'm going to get that for his stocking! Fab!

LoopyLa · 24/11/2014 21:15

Thanks everyone for the great ideas! Smile

That mouse is in pets at home for less. It's popular here too, if he gets the squeaker out of it he chases it around the same.

MedusaIsHavingaBadHairday · 24/11/2014 22:11

I have to HIDE the flying frenzy from my two :D They know where it is kept though and will stare hopefully at the cupboard. I have never seen such a simple toy that brings so much pleasure!!

DO get spare 'ends' tho.. they don't last long! I love seeing mine catching it and trying to stalk off with it in their mouths with a determined look... :D

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 24/11/2014 22:14

Do you need a lot of space for the Flying Frenzy? It says the cord is a metre long, does that mean you need a 2m radius to spin it out with? You couldn't be able to do that in our house without knocking things off shelves etc. I guess you could shorten the cord.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 24/11/2014 22:17

Ah, just found a Youtube video of someone waving it like a fishing rod. That would be ok.

But, out of all the toys I've bought for them, the cheapo squeaking mice from our local pet shop are favourite really. They play fetch with them and scuttle them underneath furniture, in order to retrieve them.

They cost 89p each, and look very life-like. They pick them up carefully by the tails or ears, dropping them on my lap/head when they want a game of fetch. Which would go on forever if it was up to my cats.

isseywithcats · 27/11/2014 13:43

i go into poundland and buy ten ping pong balls for a pound the cats love them and all the running round keeps their waistlines trim

juneybean · 28/11/2014 10:14

Mine love their yeow catnip toys and also a baubles type toy, it's made of a Christmas decoration type material can't think what its called not quite foil? but they go mad for it so have bought the bigger ones for this Christmas!

MyCatLovesMeSometimes · 04/12/2014 07:31

Purrs in our hearts may be having a run on the flying frenzy's after this thread. I've just bought my sister's cat one as a Christmas present along with a spider attachment (as she eats spiders).

RubbishMantra · 04/12/2014 16:12

Ah, they're also a good cause MyCat, they raise a lot of money for cat rescues.

MyCatLovesMeSometimes · 04/12/2014 17:16

That's what I thought too.

The toy has arrived and it looks wonderful. I wonder if our Dcat would condescend to play with it - superior Asian breed who tends to ignore toys.

AWholeLottaNosy · 07/12/2014 00:37

Saw this today. Looks great fun!

Hi everyone,

Just googling my product to see what people are saying and happened across this thread so thought I would register and thank you all for the kind words..

I created Frenzy for cats first and owners second, so hearing that the kitties out there really enjoy the Frenzy toys show me I got it right.

Purrs in our hearts is the main trade distributor for the frenzy toy, Tanya and I work together on the frenzy range with input from our feline behaviour specialists to contantly update the range and bring you improved refills and stand alone toys.

If anyone has any questions then I can be contacted via the www.frenzycattoy.co.uk website or you can contact Tanya via the www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/shop/

Once again, thank you for your valued support.
