the vet suspects my little kitty has this. He's been transferred over to specialist vet hospital. Does anyone have positive experiences of their kitty making a recovery from this?

Have they contacted you? I'm sorry none of us have experience of it.

LineRunner · 23/11/2014 18:32

Gosh I have never even heard of it, sorry. How is he?

CookieLady · 23/11/2014 18:59

Went to see him today. They need to run a couple more tests tomorrow but they highly suspect it is.

We've only had him six months. I can't believe how attached I've become to him. I'm not a pet person but I couldn't stop crying when I saw him earlier. He looks dreadful. My soft bouncing, purring bundle of fur was so quiet and he climbed on to my lap. He never does that.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

He's a gorgeous looking boy. What can they do for him?.

CookieLady · 23/11/2014 19:06

Thank you.

They can't do a damn thing for him if it is KGS. They said that they'll provide supportive care until we decide it's time. This wasn't supposed to happen. He's only eight months old.

My RSPCA Cat Care Manual says about KGS: 'Urgent veterinary attention is essential if there are to be any prospects of the cat recovering', which seems to indicate that there ARE cases of recovery if caught early. Don't know how reliable that book is though, as the author's nutritional advice is dreadful. Best of luck to your gorgeous lad.

Thank you. The vet has seen two other cases in the last eight years neither cat survived.
