What breed is this?

We have seen it a few times on the walk from school recently - it has a very distinctive call/cry and beautiful eyes. It was very friendly!

BTW - the cat carrier contained DD's soft toy cat - a prop for an assembly - I didn't take the real cat home, much as we were all tempted.

He looks a bit like Bengal, but could just be a tabby moggy. Looks very friendly.

I don't think it is a tabby - I have one of those!

His coat was very sleek and his cry was definitely not a normal meow. His eyes were stunning pale amber/yellow.

I wondered if it was, but I was surprised to have seen it out and about so much - we live between two very busy main roads, and out road is a rat run for them - I can't believe they have let it out!

We have 2. The breeder told us we must keep them indoors.

I was sorely tempted to stick it in the cat carrier and take it to our vets to see if it was chipped.

It seemed healthy and well fed so it hasn't been living rough and we always see it at the same spot so I am assuming it lives local.

DD was dreaming about us taking it to the vets and it not being chipped and then us keeping it.

It's a bengal.

Don't pick it up, if it goes scissor paws on you it will mess you up.

Dh used to come dripping with blood after getting ours in at night when he was under a year old. Torn shirt and everything.

I know someone with two who keeps hers in but they have an outdoor run.

Our half Bengal loves going out in the rain.

Not so keen on the wind.

It was great with the DC's this afternoon, head butting and rubbing against DD.

I'm going to have to develop selective hearing for the foreseeable future. And increase my immunity to pester power.

Posted too soon. If it's a Bengal it will fine whilst it s on your terms, if you try to get it to do something it doesn't want to that will be a different matter. I wear scars from just examining bengals.

i have a moggy who is half Bengal. she is a mental case - i'm definitely getting a purebreed Bengal at some point...

that cat is gorgeous - i wouldn't dare let him out if he were mine.

and yes, she is on the Naughty List at the vets..she doesn't play well with others.

We got look at the cat's claws today as he stretched on the wall andp to the gate post. Impressive!

Maybe you could rescue a bengal? One that likes other cats.

You do see them come up on the bengal cat society.

I'll keep an eye out - our moggy has been an only since the huge, cross eyed, ginger Mankycat died.

Mankytabby is now 10 and I'm not sure how he will cope with another cat, much as we would all like one - and we tend to get cats in twos as I have found in the past it works well, but I don't think Mankytabby could deal with that! We have always had rescues though.

I think a Bengal rescue cat or kitten is definitely on the cards at some point though!

Where I used to live Charlie liked to be outside when the kids were on their way to school, he would be a complete tart and have lots of children stopping to stroke him.

At our old house, our neighbour had a Bengal. At first I used to see her walking him around on a harness. Except he didn't do much walking, just sat stubbornly in the road.

He was always escaping from the house, so I think in the end, she just gave in and let him roam. He would stick his head through our window, make this croakey miaow, then hop in and socialise with MCat, who adored him.
