He's obviously not comfortable and he's limping?.

Bite wound?

Could be. Has he let you near it to have a look?

russiandwarf · 11/11/2014 17:31

IME it could be an injury or perhaps joint problem like arthritis. Does he go outside? Maybe he slipped or something? One of ours had a limp for about 3 days and it got better but if not would have whipped him off to the vet.
Have you tried gently feeling around his hind leg? If he cries or isn't happy about it then I would say he has injured himself.

cozietoesie · 11/11/2014 17:38

I fear it's the vet though, Fluffy - I know he feels secure at home but that's a very pronounced 'favouring'.

chockbic · 11/11/2014 17:42

How old is he? Will he let you touch it?

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/11/2014 17:51

He's 5, he does go out but he's been asleep all afternoon in his basket.

I can touch it but he miaows when I do. If he's still like it tomorrow morning it's off to the vets.

Really wish I hadn't thrown that metacam away now.

I wondered if it was a pose they struck when something specifics happened. Least I have a photo for the vet.

How is the reprobate's leg this morning?

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/11/2014 08:21

Thanks for asking, he seems a bit better but still can't jump very well.

He's bright in himself so I think it's a soft tissue strain rather than infection. I can squeeze the leg and paw with no protests.

He's sitting in normal positions too.

I have never seen one of them sit like that before.

That's a definite improvement then given that he miaowed yesterday when you touched it. Maybe he pulled a muscle jumping or something?

RubbishMantra · 14/11/2014 20:08

How's the FluffyCat today?

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/11/2014 20:16

Still not jumping. When I'm looking.

Probably soft tissue injury, he jumps off 7ft walls when he's got a cat flap in the fence Angry

My cats actually sit that way fairly often when they get distracted during a wash and forget to put their leg away.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/11/2014 20:58

Easy to forget a leg isn't it? When they have so much to do.

I don't know how they keep track, to be honest. I've a hard time keeping track of two sometimes. And I don't have a tail to remember as well!
