My 16 week old Kitten is due to be spayed on Friday feeling guilty now I recall the vet telling me not to feed her before the op is it like all day Thursday or a certain time in the evening, as she will not be amused by this at all she likes her grub if all day. Also can I leave her water out? She would just take it from the dogs bowl anyway? TIA

When SparklingCat had her dental it was nothing to eat from midnight onwards.

You'll have to seperate them then, iirc it's no water after 10pm.

It's just to dangerous to take a chance with.

When MKitten was neutered a couple of months back, the vet told me no food after 9pm the night before. Water until 7am the morning of the op.

If it's any consolation, I had the guilt too.

Can you ask them to take her the night before? My vets did that and while I felt guilty I didn't have to face their pathetic 'feed MEEEEE' faces in the morning and they were fine!

You need to check with the vets as they all give slightly different times. Loki couldn't eat after 8pm and water was fine right up until when I took him to the vets.

8pm is her cut off time water allowed. I'm going to be kept up all night with her yowling in my ear because she is starving aren't I? Just as well I've got her some tuna in for when she comes in I'm so going in the bad books!
