Horrible incident last night

My family have been up visiting and we had a table booked for dinner. In the rush to get out the house on time, I somehow forgot to lock the front door. Came home some 3 hours later to find the front door wide open - it had blown open in the wind!
Obviously I was terrified my two indoor cats would have escaped and gone god knows where. Amazingly, they were both sitting in the living room looking puzzled but fairly calm. Cannot believe they chose not to go outside!
Given them plenty of dreamies - I am such an idiot!

Whew! (Or that someone or some other animal came in !) You were lucky.

CatKisser · 27/10/2014 16:19

I know! Didn't even think about the possibility of another animal.
Bleurgh!

Do you have foxes around for example? I'm imagining the door blowing open and a fox or two sitting outside, not quite plucking up courage to come in but their presence making your two wary enough to stay in. (Some imagination, eh?)

As I said - you were lucky. Where I live, half the house would be empty on return.

Yes we do have foxes!! Really can't bear thinking about it.
Luckil I'm in the absolute middle of nowhere and I own precisely nothing of value so nothing went missing.

Our girl cat always looks at me with a bemused face if I suggest she goes out in the wind or rain 'are you seriously suggesting that I go out in that? No thank you! ' This disdain applies for at least a few hours afterwards too. They were probably sitting there all evening wondering whatever possessed catkisser to leave the door open and cause a draught!

Mine blames me with the distain only a cat can give for any bad weather.

CatKisser · 27/10/2014 17:07

Ha, yes, I was probably in the doghouse for inconveniencing them. Little sods.
