Kitten using our bed as a litter tray - please help!

She is great otherwise and goes outside but whenever we leave our bedroom door open she runs in and jumps on the bed and either does a wee or a poo. She does this nowhere else inside so can't understand why she does this. Does anyone else have experience of this and if so how did you get it to stop?

Don't let her in your bedroom is the obvious solution.

Have reported and asked it to be moved.

I try not to let her in the bedroom but the door was left open accidentally yesterday and in she went. I'd like her to stop doing this as want to be able to leave my bedroom door open without fear of having to wash all the bedding, duvet, mattress etc. Would just make life easier. (It's a selfish, 'I don't want to be washing all the time' reason to be honest!)

she's claiming the space as her own, because you dont allow her in there, when she can get in there she's trying to get her own scent in there mixed with yours.

to be honest, letting her in there with you so you can watch her roam occasionally so she can smell herself and feel its part of her territory will probably help!

Does she have a litter tray? Where in the house is it?

She doesn't have a litter tray, she had one in the garage which she used and now she goes outside to the fields at the bottom of our garden.

That's your problem then. Lots of cats like to have the choice whether to go outside or not. If it's cold, or raining, or the ground is hard, or if they're feeling under the weather, or if there is a scary looking cat outside, then they want to go inside.

Put a tray in the house and you'll be fine.

Defo at least one litter tray inside! Logically, if it was cold, windy or raining would you want to go outside for a poo, or would you prefer to use indoor facilities ?

YY, definitely a couple of litter trays arranged around the house.

Also some Feliway, in case she's scared of stuff. Like other cats encroaching on her territory. Feliway reduces their stress levels.

How old is she, and has she been neutered yet? Hormones play a massive part in territorial behaviour.

I have no helpful suggestions as my kitten does the exact same but you do have my sympathy! I have never washed so much bedding in my life! :(
