My cat has stopped eating

He has always loved his food a bit too much and ate everything put down to him including dry food left overnight. It would be gone in the morning. Now if I give him wet food for breakfast he has a sniff and goes outside. He does the same at dinner time and not touched the dry food at all. Being going on for about 4 days now. Help!

Is he acting unwell? Is there a chance he's being fed somewhere else?

He seems ok grooming himself etc and goes out a lot so someone may be feeding him but he would usually be jumping up to get to his food as he was always hungry. He will eat cat treats just not food.

Do you know if he's drinking and peeing/pooing?

PS - but personally, I'd be vetting him. Not eating at all for four days is just too drastic a change in behaviour for a cat and I'd want to get to the bottom of it and at least rule out quickly a physical problem. (In my experience, even cats who are being fed elsewhere would usually have a lick of wet food jelly or eat a biscuit or two just to 'keep their hand in'. Certainly within that timescale.)

Vet this week as tried to tempt him with tuna and even wouldn't eat that . Hmm

Cats that don't eat shouldn't be left more than 24 hours as not eating for longer than this can cause problems with their livers. So if has not eaten anything at all for our days you need to be on the phone to the vet.
