Ongoing loose stools :( getting worried

I've posted about Loki before. She is a tiny long haired domestic kitten. 6 months old now. I got her at three months old and she has always had loose stools. Always.

I took her to the vet, he suggested gluten intolerance. She has been on James well beloved food. No change.

The past few days there has been loose stools with fresh blood in them. I suspect it might actually be from Odin, my other cat that has never had problems before.

Which makes me wonder am I dealing with something contagious. I am calling the vets when they open. It's been on going for three months and I am getting so stressed and worried about it. Sad

Have the vets asked you to bring in a stool sample? If they haven't so far, bring in a fresh sample for them to do tests on, for things like giardia.

No advice as to whether it's something contagious, but, one of ours gets loose on certain things and it doesn't seem to be related to grain. Just thought I'd suggest maybe trying a different grain-free. Ours is fine on Grau, but it was quite a process of elimination.

Ideally a stool sample pooled over three days will giv the best results. Infectious causes need to be ruled out before other investigations.
