Kitten has the runs.

I've had my kitten for nearly three months. She is nearly six months old. She's always been really tiny. She's had soft stools pretty much constantly.

I've had her at the vets and he says he suspects a gluten intolerance as she eats well, drinks plenty of water and is a lively affectionate wee thing. She weighs 1.5 kg at the moment.

I changed her food to James wellbeloved sensitive but five days on she still has loose stools. She received worming treatment at the vets and also her first vaccinations.

I don't know what to do about this loose stools issue. She actually feels heavier and her stomach is fuller since being on James wellbeloved. She eats around three big handfuls a day.

Any advice?

It could be the vaccine, it has similar effects on my system when I get immunised.

Is she on wet or dry? I prefer wet food for them. They wouldn't eat anything dry in the wild. Mice are pretty high in water.

One of ours gets a bit soft on James Wellbeloved (the wet though, so possibly not helpful) - not sure why as she's fine with everything else. I'd try a different cereal free, James Wellbeloved is really good nutritionally but perhaps there's still something there that's disagreeing with her.

I agree about feeding some wet food but since changes in diet can cause a bit of tummy trouble if I were you I might stick to sorting the dry food issue first and then figure out the wet later!

She's on dry. I'd like to keep her on dry. The vet says dry is much better for their teeth. The stools weren't quite as bad this morning. Not normal but not as soft either.
