Hi all,we have a 13 week old kitten and I'm keen to get her insured. She's microchipped and up to date with vaccinations so pretty healthy atm. I've not bought pet insurance before and finding it a bit bewildering, what companies do you recommend and what features should I be looking for?

bumping this for you. I don't know a lot about insurance, but lots of folk here do.

Hi, I use pet plan as my cats came from cats protection with a free month and I am keen to have lifetime cover.

Lifetime cover is vital as if the cat is injured, ( one of mine was hit by a car and had £4,000 of orthopaedic surgery last year paid by pet plan straight to the vet (minus the excess)) if any more vet needs come up related to that injury to his leg it wouldn't be covered unless I had lifetime cover, so arthritis meds for example.

It's about 20 a month for both my cats, I plan on using lifelong cover until they are pretty old when I wouldn't want invasive treatment for them.

Thanks for bumping catneuterer. Thanks for the advice all, I went for Animal Friends but I did get lifetime cover as that seemed like a good option, glad I did the right thing! I'm glad she's covered now and it seems pretty reasonably priced.
