i currently have them in my kitchen - i took them to the vet last night and they are being treated for general lack of care....worms etc. seemed fluey and are on eye drops and given antibiotic injection.

they had been shut into a cupboard without food, water, light, bedding etc. think i found them in the nick of time....

i cannot keep them. i already have 2 cats of my own, 2 dogs and several rescue rodents....

can anyone help? im desperately phoning around rescue centres in yorkshire but they are all full to capacity.

the longer i keep them more ill get attached and i just CANNOT take any more animals in this tiny house!

can anyone help?
they are
1 little black kitten of about 8 weeks - female
1 little ginger tom of about 16 weeks
1 little black and white female of possibly 7 months or so....all very underweight but im working on that as we speak! they are guzzlers!

any ideas? before hubby divorces me or i need to build an arc....

First of all - what cupboard? In your house? How can it have been accessed? The mother cat has to be around somewhere.

isseywithcats · 01/10/2014 17:50

are you sure that the older one isnt the mother of the two younger ones as given thoase ages its just within the bounds of possibility if mom is actually around 8-9 months, all i can suggest is keep trying the rescues you might find one that can find a foster home for them, but great that you have cared enough about them

SomethingVicardThisWayComes · 01/10/2014 18:10

no! not in my cupboard - a friend rang me who found them in a rented house.

they are all different ages. there is no mother cat....the tenant had them. the tenant had shut them in a cupboard and left the property.

the RSPCA are phoning me back after she has spoken to the committee. they are on several cat rescue waiting lists but i didnt want to keep them long enough to get attached.

Jesus, how utterly psychotic do you have to be to shit animals in a cupboard, knowing what a terrible, slow death it will mean!? People are bloody terrible sometimes.
I am so glad they were found, and hope you manage to find loving homes for the poor little things!
Could the RSPCA pursue the tenants for cruelty?

CatKisser · 01/10/2014 18:13

Shut, obviously!

ilove · 01/10/2014 18:17

Where in Yorkshire are you? I might be able to help

Brownsauce83 · 01/10/2014 18:19

If you're West Yorkshire I can help.

ilove · 01/10/2014 18:22

Cleared it with mrIlove - we can take the ginger tom, can come for him tonight

ilove · 01/10/2014 18:42

bump...

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/10/2014 19:53

I wonder if a rescue would let you foster them until homes are found? They must be so traumatised.

cazzybabs · 01/10/2014 19:57

ilove lucky you... can we have photos... love klittens... (sadly) we have 2 already and are not local

ilove · 01/10/2014 20:27

You sure can - waiting to hear back from OP...

wantacatplease · 01/10/2014 21:21

Have you PMed her?

ilove · 01/10/2014 21:37

Yes, got litter tray and carrier all ready, and am not working tomorrow so fingers crossed...

SomethingVicardThisWayComes · 01/10/2014 23:50

so sorry....ive been absolutely going flat out all day.

i think i have a home for ginger tom and possibly one for tiny 8 week kitty...both through RSPCA so vetted and hopefully 5 homes....im so sorry ilove* i wasnt expecting any offers of rehoming....was more expecting details of charities that may take them. My dd and dh have totally fallen for the ginger tom too so this is going to be hard....im trying so hard not to cuddle him....he is long haired. RSPCA have actually been very helpful - they vet people right down to if they live on a busy road so i feel ok at min but i may end up changing my mind and keeping them as a job lot....

i think we just have little black and white female left....nothing is confirmed yet so if its ok can i get back to you as soon as i know anything...

im working tomorrow so it will be later on. will need to be up early for kitty duty...

please bear with me....

i KNEW this would happen.
we are keeping them all.

i am a sucker. christ knows how we will afford to vaccinate and neuter them all but thats a worry for another day.

we have all got attached. ginger tom is so laid back and he is just lovely, big golden eyes and completely ginger and stripey....marmalade, long hair, very cuddly.

little tiny black kitty is completely attached to ginger tom....they play together and sleep together - i cant split them up.

and little white socks/black kitty is so traumatised i dont think i will ever find a home for her.
she hides.
even when i pick her up she hides her face....she lays absolutely still but buries her little face in my clothing....she is very upset. she keeps getting into a tiny tiny gap next to my washing machine and hides behind the kick boards in the kitchen.
she seems to have got so used to the darkened cupboard she doesnt feel safe anywhere unless its dark and enclosed Sad
she is lovely and very dainty, a proper little lady, but i cant see us finding a suitable home for her - ideally she would go to someone without other pets and who had lots and lots of time for her,
if i could find that home id let her go, otherwise i think she is staying...as soon as she is flu free i will let her upstairs where she can hide away to her hearts content...i so want her to build confidence, she is scared of her own shadow right now. she is so pretty, all black with a white bib and socks....eyes like saucers, big and golden.....
i hate to think that my noisy house with lots of animals is stressing her but i cant let her go unless i know its what she needs.
the other two are running riot....young enough to have not been affected by the maltreatment.

it makes me so angry and so sad that anyone can treat living, feeling, sentient creatures so horribly.

they are being very well cared for, with good food, lots of cuddles, the run of the kitchen and the medical treatment they are in need of....

but its expensive and its hard.

5 cats - its not cheap. or easy.
ive also got a dog with an elbow dysplasia.
and a rescue dog that is very old now with a heart condition.
and rescue rats
and a hamster that dd was supposed to look after but somehow it fell to me...
plus a full time job.
and a very messy house thanks to all the critters...

The black and white sounds so traumatised. She must have realised no one was coming for them.

I really don't like people, they do awful things to animals.

Could the local cpl help with neutering? Or the pdsa?. You have saved them re-homing 3 cats & treating flu.

SomethingVicardThisWayComes · 04/10/2014 13:29

I tried the pdsa and others but no....I'd only get help if I were on benefits. I'm still waiting for the rescues to get back to me but the longer it takes the less I feel I can split them up. The 2 youngest are inseparable. Sad Sad

Maybe the vet will do a discount for three? It's not everyday someone acquires 3 kittens.

It's a rubbish situation all round really. The tennant will get off scot free.
