I asked my vets who they recommended :) They said they weren't allowed to do that excactly so then I asked them who they dealt with directly and they named three Grin

I have gone with Animalfriends for my two kittens ..costs me £6.89 each a month and lifetime illness cover (one of my old cats had a recurring condition and my old insurance stopped paying out grr).

Hi. This is the most asked question about pet insurance which is why I am currently conducting a survey of pet insurance claims experiences! Started collecting responses yesterday and now have nearly 200!

(If there is anyone reading this who has made a pet insurance claim in the last year.. it would be fantastic if you could do the survey ... we will share all results freely... and the average time it takes is less than 2 minutes.. www.surveymonkey.com/s/Pet_Insurance_Claims_Mumsnet)

However this doesn't help you a lot if you need pet insurance now. (And if you are going to get it now is always the best time as you never know when your kitten might need a vet.. and if you are not covered at the time .. most companies will exclude treatment for that condition for life!).

I have a website.. which I know has been recommended by others on here (thanks!) .. www.pet-insurance-surveys.co.uk. This provides detailed info and an assessment of all UK pet insurance policies. I hope you find it useful

I use PetPlan.

It's not the cheapest company but they were very good when my cat became ill very suddenly and had to stay in the cat hospital.

They have an option where you can let them pay the vet directly. It meant that all I had to do was sign the permission form and PP and the vets sorted the rest out between them.

They also paid a percentage of the cat's food bills for 6 months when he had to be put on a special diet.

Kimbasmum - Your survey link doesn't work.

This message comes up:

Thanks for checking it out!!

Petplan, wouldn't use anyone else because they payout and quickly.
