So the beast named Scissorclaws had first jabs, inc leukaemia last Friday. His one eye is a bit swollen and red. Oh and sticky. Does he need to go back to vet or shall we wait?

I'm always edgy about eyes, chockbic, and considering that he only has one I think I'd be phoning them directly at the least and getting ready to take him in when they say they want to see him. (You know what I'm like though - off to the vet as soon as one of the animals so much as looks at me cross-eyed.)

chockbic · 25/09/2014 15:04

The vet said he might be off colour for a day or two but its been nearly a week now.

Might it be a reaction to the vaccine? I'm scared he may not be able to have the second dose Confused

I've never had that as a reaction to the vaccines although it may be a side effect that I don't know about. You need a vet's view on that.

Why not just ring them and find out? At the least it would ease your mind and if there's something else possibly wrong then you might have got in just in time to help that remaining eye.

Am going to call thanks.

Hope he doesn't lose an eye Sad

Good luck - and let us know how things go.

cozietoesie · 25/09/2014 15:15

PS - sorry, I may be confusing you with someone whose cat only had one eye to start off with. Does he have two?

chockbic · 25/09/2014 15:17

Yes he does have two at the min Smile

Will update later.

Vaccine reactions last 48hours at the most so this is something else. Eyes always need prompt action so I would say vets.

cozietoesie · 25/09/2014 17:05

Thanks for that Lone.

Vet said reaction to vaccine. He's had an anti inflammatory injection and ointment for his eyes.

Hasn't put him off his food. Or attacking me Shock
