Hello first time in this bit of mumsnet, I have two cats the older one is 7 and she normally goes to the toilet outside , twice in the last week she has pooed by the front door , has anyone any idea why she might be doing this ?

Do you have a litter tray?. If its a bit chilly out they don't always like to go out to use a loo.

Ae they up to date with worming tablet? Is anything bothering her? Do you have two cat litter trays? You need one for each cat.

We only have one tray as only one cat uses it , we haven't had any obvious changes , I do appreciate the advice

I'd try another tray, it's meant to be one per cat plus one.

Maybe take her to the vet, it's odd for them to poo like that for no reason.

I wonder if she's feeling a bit off colour.

Maybe worm them both again. Was it normal looking poo? As she may have just been a bit ill an unable to make it outdoors. If you have any feliway plug that in as well. Perhaps she has argued with another cat and feels unable to go and poo outside.

My cat normally only goes outside but when he can't go out he is unbelievable picky about the litter tray. If it has been used at all he won't go back in it. He very occasionally uses the litter tray rather than going outside for no obvious reason and the little angel peed in the bath the other day!
