Is there anyone in SE London looking for a new friend and can give this beautiful boy a home?

Or, anyone know of any better sites to look for rehoming? I just always think Gumtree is not the best place for animals

No, it's not good is it. It'll be open to abuse on there.

Stunning cat as well.

SE London is CHAT territory isn't it? (Although I don't know how they're fixed at the moment - they may have cats coming out of the rafters.)

Thanks cozie for sorting the link

No gumtree isn't good. I hear some horror stories. I thought of CHAT but seeing as he isn't abandoned/a stray I wasn't sure if they would be able to help
He is a stunner a real majestic boy

Would he live with another cat?

crazynanna · 13/09/2014 12:00

Not sure Labrat but it does say in the ad that he was an only pet

He's not my boy btw it's an advert I came across. I just don't think Gumtree is the right place for animals

Ah sorry. I misread, thought he was yours. He is lovely. I wonder if it's fair to get another. My idiot boy PicklePig wouldn't like it I don't think. I'd love another cat but wrestle daily with my cat conscience.

If I can put your mind at rest somewhat.

I have just rehomed an adult cat through Gumtree. She was one of two sisters but unfortunately one of the sisters was hit by a car just before she was due to come to me so we have the other sister now on her own. I went and visited the cats at their home, the owner then came to my house to see my house. We are in contact through Facebook. No one is trying to feed to cat to a Pitball.

Years ago due to a very bad change in my circumstances I had to rehome my adult cat through Gumtree. I am still in contact, my cat is very happy in his new home.

I have also in the past rehomed a cat through Wood Green. They did not visit my house, they gave me an indoor cat which in hindsight should have remained an indoor cat. I said I was going to let the cat out, they said that was absolutely fine and it would be good for him, a few weeks later he went out and never came home. I suspect he was either stolen (he was a breed) or he hurt himself and perished. I feel terribly guilty about it even now.

So charities do not always get it right and Gumtree is not populated by psychotic cat killers. Yes there are weirdos all over the place but in my experience of owners trying to rehome their adult cats, they adore them, are devastated they have to let then go, and try their absolute hardest to make sure they get rehomed in a fabulous new home.

Thankyou NewEra. It's not so much the people on there trying to rehome their animals that I have heard bad things about but more the people who answer the adverts. But yes, not all are looking for animals to use for other purposes than just a pet.
Labrat I get you. My girl would never have another cat in the house...much to my eternal dismay or I would really have a houseful by now
