Nooo! How can I have mice with three cats?!

Snowers did a massive flamboyant pounce today behind the log basket and somehow caught a poor little vole. Didn't think voles lived indoors but hey. I couldn't get him to drop it so let him do the humane thing and polish it off.

But he couldn't even manage that. He dropped it and it has literally vanished. By tomorrow it will probably have had appalling vole babies.

Useless cats!!!

Yup, I've been able to install all my lame computer games...
I do do work on it, honest!
Though I seriously think that if I left I'd just offer to buy it off them!

Quick but uninteresting update!
While the Keystone Cats were staking out the chest of drawers, the mouse managed to emerge onto the hearth rug. I didn't dare move in case either cat saw it. The bloody thing hopped leisurely along and disappeared under the other sofa. Why do I feel so happy about this?!

Tis quite funny watching those two still stalking the chest of drawers though!

They're cats = superb hunters with superb senses.

(Great picture by the way.)

CatKisser · 10/09/2014 20:37

Thanks Cozie!
Somehow I think I'm going to get a very peaceful night's sleep tonight with only Scabbers stealing my bedspace!

Could be. (Why do I get the impression from the pics that Olive is lead hunter? She should be No 2!)

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/09/2014 20:59

Olives getting so big now.

CatKisser · 10/09/2014 21:08

Olive is utterly dominant!
She blocks snowy from the feeding bowls, she starts all the fights. If Snowy's having a hug she'll come and barge him out the way. She sleeps next to me under the duvet and if snowy tries to get in, she swipes him with her claw! She's got a massive character! I feel awful about keeping her in but she's still only just a kilo so I think she's too young/small to be neutered.

Best thing of all though. SHE CAN PLAY FETCH!!! It's awesom! She understands "droppit" Grin

Luckily, Snowers is a natural wingman if I recall? (Just had to switch to Olive (from Scabbers) as his 'main man'.)

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/09/2014 21:17

Poor snowy Sad

CatKisser · 10/09/2014 21:17

Better go to bed - gin gone to head!
I am 30 tomorrow.
Oh god!

Oh snowy's happy enough - he loves her! He follows her round like an idiot!

CatKisser · 10/09/2014 21:19

Yes a total wingman. He makes sure he gets his "olive-free time"
And actually, when he had that mouse earlier, he growled! A total first! I was impressed!

Oh 30 is nothing. Happy Birthday for tomorrow!.

cozietoesie · 11/09/2014 00:07

Absolutely nothing! Happy Birthday CatKisser and hope you don't have a hangover tomorrow.

cozietoesie · 11/09/2014 00:08

*when you wake up anyway. (Forgot it's already tomorrow!)

CatKisser · 11/09/2014 16:33

Head was rather painful this morning. Whoops!
Thanks for the birthday wishes though. THIRTY!! Grin

That's one of the great thing about cats - they don't need to be walked eg on a dark and rainy night or when you're a tad 'fragile'. Grin

Hope you're having a good day.

juliascurr · 11/09/2014 16:47

old fashioned naptha mothballs; Olbas oil, anything strong/pungent will rid your house of mice much quicker than a cat and deter future invasion
cats are vicious, sadistic and bleedin' useless

juliascurr · 11/09/2014 16:48

the smell fades v fast, too

CatKisser · 11/09/2014 17:08

Ah, see Julia, I've found olbas oil, mothballs etc REALLY affect my cats and hurt their eyes.
Are you a dog lover?? Wink

no, we have Neville the cat who murders rodents but does not stop them coming- hence moth balls

Fuzzymum1 · 12/09/2014 16:08

Our cats bring in and release mice - one chewed the wiring in the back of the dishwasher and almost set the house on fire! Fortunately we were home, DH worked out where the smoke was coming from and single handedly picked up and took outside the dishwasher!
