Buying cat food on line

Italiangreyhound · 04/09/2014 22:23

Could anyone tell me, please, of any experience of buying pet food on line?

Our vet sold us Royal Canin for just over a £1 a pouch, which is special urinary stuff. Cat seems to like it but that is very expensive to us. So looking on line I can get it for about 80p a sachet. Anyone heard of these companies, please?

I've bought items (not food ) from Petplant.

I get my cats' food from www.zooplus.co.uk/ They are very quick with delivery .. worth a look:)

Another one for ZooPlus here too.

And more recently, The Happy Kitty Company but they don't do special diet food. Ordered at 3pm and it had arrived by 9am the next day for very reasonable postage costs!

I also use zoo plus, loads of brands of food there & they're really good, free delivery over a certain amount, I usually just get loads at a time to last months. The loyalty points scheme is pretty good tooSmile

Thanks so much, am throwing away lots of the 'cheaper' food so it is not really cheaper!

Another vote for zooplus and I have many animals so ordered a variety of goodies.

GreenMouse · 04/09/2014 23:34

I also buy Royal Canin for my cats, I buy it from PetSupermarket in 10kg bags. I click through TopCashback and earn cashback as well!

RubbishMantra · 05/09/2014 02:27

I've used Viovet and VetUK, not for food though. I always get the food from Zooplus. You can pay a fiver which entitles you to 5% off all orders for a year, and on your birthday they send you a voucher code for money off. They also give you points, like Tesco's, and at easter, they do an 'easter egg hunt' which allows you to hunt for extra points. On top of that, you can get cashback through cashback sites.

They're bloody brilliant I think.

Fuzzymum1 · 05/09/2014 14:50

I've used all of those except medic animal. I've also used zooplus. No problems with any of them.

GreenMouse · 05/09/2014 15:36

ooooh zooplus looks interesting, I'm off to investigate, thanks RubbishMantra :)

Another vote for Zooplus! The points program is surprisingly worthwhile, and delivery is pretty quick. They are with Top Cashback too.

msfreud · 05/09/2014 16:10

I use Fetch now as they deliver with my Ocado order (or in a one hour slot by Ocado van even without an Ocado order).

GreenMouse · 05/09/2014 16:35

Zooplus don't sell the Royal Canin variety I buy for my cats :(

Italiangreyhound · 05/09/2014 18:25

Could not find the wet food for urinary on Zoopla.

Cat seems happy with Tesco own now. the Cystitis is gone and hopefully it was a one off so may be OK with the regular stuff. Have James Well beloved dry and Tesco wet at moment.

Thanks all.

Zooplus kept delivering my orders to the wrong house and wouldn't take my directions to find my address.
I use canned food and on-line it's far more costly than from the supermarket.
