The Cats Protection

I have just re-homed a lovely cat from the cats protection, I just wondered if any of you have any experience of this charity? Is it a 'good' cats charity or not?

I am looking to support a cats charity and wanted to support my local branch, but I know some re-homing places aren't as good as they seem!

ive always found that cats protection league has a good reputation, but if you want to support your local branch ask them how to donate so the money goes straight to them and not into head office coffers, and its obligitory to post a pic of your new rescue cat please so we can all coo over him or her :)

Great, I'll chat with them about the best way to donate..

So, heres my new cat, the black one sunning himself on the wheely bin (classy!)

And my Maine Coon - he's feeling left out enough at the moment!

Our cat came from a CP centre. I found them very good and tbh I've never ready anything on here to suggest otherwise either.

What beautiful cats! Ours was from CP. I think they are a good charity and support their open days etc. I have also donated a few items e.g. cat beds that His Catship refused to sleep on, and they were gratefully received.

Awww both your cats are just lovely

We rehomed our cat through CP and we thought they were excellent if a bit disorganised as is the way sometimes with busy volunteers. My son is desperate to do some fundraising for them but they haven't got back to us about it yet!!

I donate £10 every month to CPL, I don't have any cats from them myself (have two posh furry boys!) but they're the only charity IMO that puts it's money towards cats, rehoming and not sending them off to the funny farm in the sky.

I love the cpl.

I've had two elderly cats from them and they support the vet fees for their healthcare because I adopted old boys (typed with assistance from one old cat on my lap)

CPL is an excellent cat charity. Yes, it has central coffers, but each year these central coffers fund thousands of neuterings that are administered through the local branches.
Head office also spends a lot of time and energy promoting and educating on cat welfare. One of my previous colleagues is married to the chief education officer and he travels all over the country running events.

What we found when we got our cat was that they were very conscientious about visiting us to assess the house and they were also very keen to match the right cat with the right home. Our youngest daughter was 2 then and the shelter steered us towards cats that would cope with young children. They were spot on too.
