New kitten - not wee'd yet.

Evening all.
After advice please!
Picked up our new kitten today, she's 15 weeks, got her home about 4pm, she's eaten but hasn't wee'd or poo'd yet. I've popped her into her litter tray, she's litter trained, and it's snucked into a private corner so she knows where it is and should be shy kitten friendly.
I'm just worrying that she's not opened her bladder for such a long time. Is this normal?

She's probably discombobulated by all the change - give it a little longer and try, if possible, to let her have some quiet time to get herself together. They can cross their legs for ages, particularly with pooing.

Has she drunk or eaten wet food by the way?

She's a bit put out by the change, she was brought up with five Yorkshire terriers so out house is very quiet in comparison! She's licked the jelly off some wet food, eaten a couple of chunks and had a couple of laps of water. May have given her a slice of ham because she was being cute :)

Likely completely (albeit temporarily) unsettled then. I'd leave it for a bit and try to give her some peace and quiet - even though she's used to dogs. Is she to sleep with you tonight? (Thinking about trays here.)

We're just letting her be, she's had an explore, she knows where her bed is and seems to be using it as a base. She's going to be sleeping in the living room, side lamp left on, my tshirt in her bed with her food nearby and litter tray on the other side of the room.

Sounds OK then. You'll probaly come down tomorrow morning to find pees/pos in her tray.

What a wee honey.

She's currently snoozing on my boobs. I think I've passed the test for her affections :)

I posted the same yesterday... my two took half a day to wee and over a day to poo (at least there have been two poos so I'm hoping it's one each)
I think they just need time... and they will go when they feel the need.

I'm glad it's not just me who's on toilet watch then! Hope your two are settling in nicely :)

Currently they are thundering along the landing ..they are confined to two bedrooms for a week or so to let our resident Portia get used to the smells/sounds via a netted gate. They have slept all day when I wanted to play sulks !

Ophelia is quite a confident baby.. purring and happy to be stroked. Oberon is much more timid, but have had a few purrs after food and he loves chasing things. I am tempted just to spend the whole evening up there with them but realistically they have to spend some time just together and they seem happy. They are unbelievebly cute, but I am so anxious ..it's years since I had kittens and I feel like a new mum!!!

Aw, Tessa is a shy little thing as well, and I feel like a very new cat mum all over again as well! I forgot just how sharp kitten claws are as well!

Any luck during the night?

Woke up to a used litter tray :) feel like I can stop stalking her bowel and bladder functions!

Good News - but I fear that you'll always be keeping an eye on them, for illness and irregularity if nothing else. (It will be registering at the back of your brain even if it's not foremost in your thoughts.)

We had lots of purring and making biscuits on my boobs tonight. I'm hopelessly in love :)
