We were out lateish yesterday & our female (v beautiful) homebody cat was not home & not come home yet. Hoping that by posting on here it will trigger her to turn up! I know she can feed herself (rural area & she is a serial killer & v sweet). Apart from being an evil murdress she is v sweet. V worried.

I hope she comes home soon - they are such a worry when they do this aren't they? I'm sure it's just a case of her being shut in somewhere and she'll be home soon. Silly question but have you checked any sheds, garages etc?

Harry is a real homebod, especially if either of us are home. The week before last he went out at 8am and didn't come back until 10pm that night. I know it was only a day but I know him and his little routines. We think he was shut in next door as their light came on and he appeared in our garden!

Fingers crossed she strolls home soon x

Checked shed - I'm working at home today so if not home later I think I will knock at my neighbours..

Dont panic. Mine is a homebird, but he will occasionally decide to bugger off. He is back as soon as he gets hungry!

Stll not home. Hoping thunder & lightning doesn't confuse her.

Is she chipped and spayed, goshhhhh ?

ShoeWhore · 09/06/2014 23:05

Definitely not shut in a cupboard/similar? I can remember frantically searching all around our road and nearby roads for our cat before coming home and realising she had got stuck in the loft room Blush

ProneUponHerUnmadeBed · 09/06/2014 23:13

Our cat is now 13, and has been through several house moves with us, never straying, always there when you shook his biscuits. So when he disappeared for 3 days earlier this year, we were frantic - walking the streets, leafletting neighbours, the whole shebang. Only to discover that he was being fed by a neighbour who 'thought he was a stray' Hmm, and had decided to make a long weekend of it. All of which is meant to say 1) don't give up hope; 2) even when you think you know a cat's routine, you can be so wrong (tabbies can change their stripes...); and 3) could she be being fed by a neighbour?
Really hope she's back now.

goshhhhhh · 09/06/2014 23:15

Yes she is chipped & spayed. Checked cupboards, asked neighbours to look in sheds. Pouring here - maybe the rain will bring her home. Bit worried - we have had a pretty awful couple of years bereavement etc - so hope nothings happened as DCs will be devestated (& me)

Doubt being fed by neighbours as she is too timid. I swear she is bipolar. Murderer & sweetie pie.

It feels awful, doesn't it? However mature and experienced they are, all they have to do is vary from their routine and you're edgy as edgy.

Fingers crossed for you.

TheSultanofPing · 10/06/2014 11:37

A fingers crossed from me too. Hope she's home now.

ShoeWhore · 10/06/2014 13:52

Any news OP? Hope she's home safe and sound by now.

goshhhhhh · 10/06/2014 17:35

She is back! Tired, hungry & jumpy. Really pleased. DS made fun of me for using my cat voice.
Just didn't feel right without her.

Thank you everyone for your loveliness.
