My 16 yr old cat has a protruding eye

One eyeball seems to be being pushed out and it looks awful. I have taken him to the vet who has given him some anti-biotics to rule out an infection however the vet mentioned that it looks like it is something/a mass of some sort pushing the eye forward. Has anyone any experience of this type of thing?

Yes one of ours had eye cancer.

She lasted quite a while and we pts eventually.

I hope yours is just infection though.

He sleeps all the time and rarely moves from his cushion. Just has no get up and go anymore. I'm hoping for the best but fearing the worst.

I have found removing the eye gives a great deal of relief to these animals and buys them quite a considerable amount of time often several years. Their quality of life improves dramatically after surgery. One eyed cats do really, really well.
