We have 4 cats - they go outside, but also like to scratch indoors.

The ones sold in Argos seem small and wimpy.

Any recommendations?

I made my own 4 foot high one out of some MDF, wooden post and some carpet offcuts. It's sturdy and tall enough for him to climb to the top and sit there surveying his domainGrin

I have a floor to ceiling supporting post in my house which I am going to wrap sisal twine around, do you have anything like that - a banister perhaps?

Also thinking about buying one of these.

We've got This one.

We bought this one when dh left it out in the rain but he didn't like it and sprayed on the bed in protest so I had to go and swap it.

I think you need to take him shopping with you, Fluffy. Get him signed up to stuff in advance and all that.

(For the avoidance of doubt for any new posters - Yes, we are talking about a cat and not Fluffy's DH!)

What do they like to scratch though? No point buying a tall upright one if a flat scratch pad would get more use.

You can get spray on cat nip scent too, my cat loves it.

Yes - critical. I've always been one for an old piece of upholstered furniture or some carpet samples, myself.

My two cats are perfectly happy with the cheap & cheerful Argos ones.

They have one each Smile
