...sunbathing on the trampoline again! My cat, a spayed female, is mainly indoors but likes to go into the garden when it's sunny for about 15 minutes then she comes inside but for the past few days the massive Tom is in the garden and scaring her/hissing at her etc. I didn't see him out there this morn but as soon as I opened the door he hopped over the fence! My cat is pissed off! So what to do?!

I'd get a water pistol or one of those smallish garden waterers that can be pumped up. (The last one I had could send a jet of water 10-12 feet at least which is quite good because then they don't necessarily see you doing it.)

They hate being watered and it will do them no harm.

Just keep chasing him off whenever you see him in the garden.

Personally I'd be encouraging him with a view to nipping him down the vets and getting his balls whipped off. If you don't mind the effort/spending the money that's definitely the best option, for all concerned including him.

Get a hose, he'll soon get the message

He had a collar on, he isn't a stray and looks a well kept boy so I'm not going to lure him and get him neutered (if he was a stray I would!!) but will get the water pistol on standby!
