I have just caught my 5month old feeding from his mum

Just that really , she had another litter 2 weeks ago .

please don't flame me as they had to be put in foster care while I was in hospital for 5 weeks & by the time I realised she was 6 weeks gone & I couldn't abort them

I have separated them , he is neutered & I have his mum booked in to be neutered in 7 weeks .

She wasn't stopping him or anything I thought she would of done , should I be worried ?

Cheeky little cat isn't he? She's probably so used to being chomped on she just went with it.

He is a proper mummies boy & is very jealous of the kittens .

Just wait until he forgets himself and bites by mistake. She'll have him out of the milk bar like a shot!

Good , Its very odd to see as he is twice the size of his mum

Perhaps she's an advocate of extended breastfeeding and child lead weaning?

When I was a kid one of out cat's kittens went to live in the next street and used to come back to visit.

Our cat would have nothing to do with him, however the dog would lie down and he could occasionally be seen latched on.

There could be no milk, but they both seemed quite happy.

She isn't going out & just after she had her first litter (took her in when pregnant) I were taken ill so I weren't able to look after them & the woman that took her in let her out & voile she got pregnant

I had a cat whose son fed from her until he was 6 months old. She then started kicking him away. He was a proper mummy's boy though.

This is him now - aged 16

Thanks , Crazy. The ginger one next to him is my young girl. Sadly, his mum passed away a couple of years ago. He is a gentle softie and loves a tummy rub.

Many years ago, I found an abandoned 2-week old kitten. We found a wet nurse for him, but for some reason he was not properly weaned from his foster mom. When I got him back at 8 weeks, he would eat regular food but also latch on to my female neutered cat for comfort nursing. Obviously there was no milk, but she allowed it. She was a tiny Siamese mix and he grew to be huge. And still nursed. For years.

I'm tempted to try him with some kind of Dummy as he likes to comfort chew - I'm not mad I saw it on a RSPCA program the other week
