Fussy cats!

Our 2 lovely rescues have always had wet food but one is really fussy. Now both are refusing wet food little shits still get us up at 3am only to ignore what's offered though they're eating biscuits instead it seems.

Is this normal?

They can be fussy although you should be OK with dried as long as it's good quality and they're drinking plenty of water. Getting me up at 03.00 would be beyond the pale though at cozietowers - I'm wondering if they're either bored or pushing the envelope to see how far you'll go.

How old are they and are they outside-going cats?

They're 3 we've had them for 2 years, they do go out but in during the night. The princess is getting more and more fussy! Though her brother will normally eat most things.

We feed them james Wellbeloved cereal free biscuits

Young to be pernickety. I'd be tempted, myself, to hang a bit tougher if you have the stamina - on the basis that if they get the upper hand now, you're going to have a rough old time once they get older, especially if they ever need meds in their food as older cats might for one reason or another.

I'd be trying some foraging toys as well to give them their tea and late supper in - to try to prevent the dawn chorus.

Should we stop putting wet food down for a few days and only give biscuits?

You can also buy plastic kibble balls online and in most big supermarkets or pet stores in the interim.

No reason why you shouldn't just give them a good quality dried if that's what they like. (Bet you in a few months, they'll be refusing to eat dried and will only touch certain types of wet though. That's what I meant about them not getting the upper hand.)

They are remarkably easy, all told - but just wait. Seniorboy won't eat fish flavoured food and only certain brands of wet meat flavoured. (He can't eat normal dried because he has hardly any teeth left.) I'd hang tough with him myself except I'm constrained because he's not only old (so I like to get calories inside him to keep his weight up) but has to have liquid meds in his breakfast and tea - so needs to actually eat his breakfast and tea.
