Luring a lost cat home

A friend of mine recently acquired two cats after their owner died. One escaped and was missing for nearly three weeks. Cats Protection advised getting the hoover bag from the old house, sprinkling the dust outside the new house and some inside. Two hours later, the cat was back in his new home. He'd been in a fight, but apart from that was none the worse for his adventure.

I thought this was amazing and wanted to share in case it helps someone.

It's a tip that some people have mentioned although I've never had to use it myself. They surely have a good sense of smell.

I think that's a brilliant tip. I read that tearing up an owners clothes and laying a trail can help too. Anything that smells of home.
