I miss you :-(

My poor dear dear cat had a stroke yesterday and we made the painful decision to have him put to sleep... He was my friend and I miss him ... My eyes are so sore from crying .. I know it gets better with time as we had so many animals as a child but he was my child before children and I loved him and he loved me sooo much .. He was with me all the time and has seen me through so much heartache .. This sucks Hmm

Thanks .. We have his brother and they were devoted to each other so it's very sad that he is now on his own .. He is the less affectionate of the two but I haven't left him alone. He is very sad and has slept all day which is unusual for him.. Apart from spoiling him I don't know how to help him . Hmm

Ah, bishbosch, I had to say goodbye to my old boy on Saturday morning and you're right, it does suck. You and I both know it will get better but it doesn't make it easier, does it? Big hugs Sad

Sorry to hear that maybe .. I have had lots of cats but not one that has gone like this . He was in perfect health and jumping all over me in the morning and then 15 minutes after I fed him I heard him screaming at the front door .. I did have a chance to be with him and say goodbye at least but it's all so sudden .. Im really struggling with him missing :-(

I had to do the same for my old girl cat a few months ago and it still brings tears to my eyes although there are happy memories of her as well

I am so sorry about your lovely old cat

We lost our 18 yr old lady in September and I can still cry thinking about her. We have her sister (18 too) and she has found it hard.

You are a good cat mummy x

His brother is very sad .. It's unusual for two boys to like each other like they did .. They were inseparable .. I'm worrying he will die of a broken heart now .. :-(.... We have a lovely 4 year old girl too but she is really my daughters and my Boys never really let her into their pack although they are kind boys and most definitely politely tolerated her .. I hope she will become closer to him but so far she is still sleeping with my daughter and no where near him.. It will take time I know x

Flower was top cat. She was very vocal and had almost obsessive qualities about her. She loved my Dd who is 21 and has global delay and autism. They were inseparable. The cat we have left ( petal) was quieter and less demanding.

She has changed a lot... We now think she was the grains behind the demands! She has found her voice and has now become dds constant companion. She sleeps with dd just like flower did.

Your old boy will find his way. Xxx

Thank you for asking , I'm ok I guess . Had a meltdown last night as I had Been holding it in all day . I tried not to cry in front of the children but i did .. My remaining boy is defiantly sad and quiet . He has been having so much attention and food ... My dad died in June and I'm ashamed to say the pain is similar... We are a family of animal lovers though so I think dad will forgive me .

It's hugely difficult when you have a special one and your remaining boy will be feeling it as well.

So so sorry for your loss. Please don't be ashamed to say that the pain is similar to losing your dad - our pets are close members of our families. I was 7 when I lost my last grandparent and my parents are still alive and while I've lost older family members/friends which upset me I've never felt grief or pain as bad as when my cat was killed last year.

Your pain is very real - please treat it as such and don't be afraid to grieve. I'm sure your dad would completely understand.

I hope it's OK that a dog person stops in to say how sorry she is that you have lost your sweet kitty.

The loss of a beloved companion is so hard. Especially if people around you just don't 'get it'. Pets are members of our families. We lost our darling Lizzy (choc lab) 2 years ago and I'm still not 'over it'. I believe that there is a 'once in a lifetime' pet who connects with you in a special way. You have my sympathy.
