When to let her out?

I got my cat back from ex-h on Saturday as he agreed to keep her until I bought my own place.
She is 9 and seems very content here. She finally comes to sit on my lap having never done so before.
However, she loves the outdoors and keeps going to the back door. I'm mindful of not wanting her to run off and not return.
How long would you keep her in for?

3 weeks minimum. It will be tough, but it has to be done. She needs to know that this is her new home and acclimatise to her new environment.

Bet you are happy to have her back. Smile

Aww. Get her lots of toys and the 3 weeks will fly by, sounds like she's happy to have you back too. Smile

I do some Pavlovian training prior to letting my cats out, tapping their bowls prior to feeding them. Then the very first time I let them out an hour before a meal and then use my Pavlov trigger to bring them home.
