How do I get a collar on my spayed kitten?

Brought my tortoiseshell home about an hour ago after being spayed. Her just-castrated brother is very affectionate and happy to be home but my scatty girl is body-swerving me to the extreme. She is licking the hell out her wound and I think I should put the collar on her but I have no idea how.
We got her into her carrier this morning with the help of a laser pen and a towel, how will I get the collar on her?

Have you got someone to help you? If so wrap her up tightly in a towel or similar, so that only her head is poking out and she can't move any limbs. Hold her and the towel tightly. Get someone else to slip the plastic collar, attached to a normal collar, over her head.

Exactly as described above, she won't like it she will sulk, but she will get over it.

Thanks for the tips. She actually spent the rest of the night under the bed and stopped licking by the following morning. I shall use your tip next week when I gave take her back to the vet to get her wound checked! She's clever and fast.
