Cat litter tray mat...any recommendations?

I love my cats but I am fed up with finding cat litter all over the house, and as a result hoovering everyday. I was thinking of buying a handheld Dyson to help with this, but I've just sat down to order some more litter and seen some mats to go outside the litter tray and wondered if this might be a much cheaper solution. We do have a mat already, but it's just a small washable food mat I think so doesn't work at trapping the litter.

Does anyone have any recommendations? The litter tray is covered and we use Cats Best if it makes any difference.

We use Cat's Best with a covered tray and have the same problem. We also have a handheld Dyson which is great at picking it up. However would be interested if there is a mat out there. On the other hand it would be yet another thing to keep clean.

I've tried a mat sold especially for catching litter. It got moldy quite quickly and just trapped any misdirected wee as well! Binned it within three months.

I have a Roomba so just chuck that in the bathroom each day to do its business. They are jolly expensive though.

We had one of those mats but it started to disintegrate after a few washes.

I now just use one of those thin washable doormats you can buy rolled up in the supermarket, which catches most of it and then I Hoover up the rest.

I saw on Pinterest that you should use that rubber matting with big honeycomb shape holes punched in it.

I think it's for garage floors/outdoor doormats. I'll have a look and see if I can find it.

Yes, that's the stuff. I'm disappointed with my pets at home mat tbh.

Ultimately we are all going to be cleaning up a lot.

Oh, we've got those holey ones in the garden under the swing etc to stop the grass wearing out totally. We've also got a couple of the cheap thin ones in our camping kit, might try those.

I tried a mat and it was great until the cat ate it. I then got a bigger mat and the cat pulled it around the room with his teeth, spreading the entire litter box contents everywhere. This hand held dyson idea sounds the business.

I use the Daily Telegraph underneath and a dustpan and stiff bristle brush. Failing that I send them to my horrible neighbours garden. They don't notice amongst the abandoned bin bags.

So it seems my idea to go for the handheld Dyson might be the best bet.

Yep, sadly regular cleaning and swearing under your breath is the best solution.

The handheld Dyson is great, I also use it for getting cat hair off sofas, cushions, curtains etc.
