Missing cat - again. Day 10

Sad my cat has disappeared again. The last time was in October after moving, he was gone 8 days and returned with weight loss and starving.
This time he disappeared on boxing day and no sign of him at all since then. I was away for 4 days but my parents stayed in my house and they didn't see him either. As soon as i got home i put leaflets through doors. Nothing :(
Don't know what else to do, just want to know he is not injured.

Is he chipped? Have you rang around local vets? Ask your friends/neighbours to keep an eye out too. I hope he finds his way home soon.

Yes he is chipped although under the cats protection name and not the name i gave him. But my mobile no is on there so guess it doesnt matter.

Surely vets would scan for chip and ring me?

I am thinking the worst as we have a v. busy road behind our garden. I guess if he was hit and the person didn't stop then there's no way i'd know :(

Update!

He was brought home yesterday! Almost 3 weeks after he went missing. He was found by a lady in her garden on NY and they had a big shed her cats were in with a cat flap and he has being going in an out there. Quite far away actually! So she fed him and posted a message on facebook. Our old next door neighbour recognised him and emailed my partner so he went and got him. Also, people said they saw him going around a local care home so he has been on quite an adventure.
Apparently he was covered in ticks and has scabs and scratches all over him. Podgy tummy to so he is going to vets tommorrow for a check up! He is happy to be home though :)
