Much-loved oldmancat, with established but controlled hyperthyroidism, has been diagnosed (at great expense via biopsies
) with inflammatory bowel disease and chronic pancreatitis.
He has up days and down days but is pretty much skin and bone now. Sometimes he eats well and seems like himself, perky and cheerful, other times he just sleeps.
He's just getting onto treatment, for the IBD, there's not much they can do for the pancreatitis. Anyone have any experience with cats with these conditions? He's the first older moggy I've had, together since (both our) kittenhood, means a great deal to me, and I want to do right by him - give him every chance but not put him through a horrible time.
Any thoughts gratefully received... Probably by our vet as well, who no doubt is tired of being cried on by my neurotic alter-ego, I swear that's not really me!
