The Sainsbury's delivery just before Xmas had a substitute litter. I just refused automatically saying 'Oh No, he won't like that' and the delivery driver looked at me as if I was demented.

White vinegar, poured on liberally - the room will smell like a chippy for a few hours, but it will neutralise the smell that you can smell, and the smell that the cat can smell! that will attract it back to the same spot.
