Sneezy cat

Have had him for two months - he is a seven month old little sod darling.

The past two days he has been sneezing a lot. Including in the middle of the night, on my head.

Should I worry? He was in the vets on Monday for neutering and chipping and was fine then.

What shots has he had? Sneezing could be a symptom of cat flu.

He's had two rounds of jabs since we got him as the previous owner had lost his records.

Genuinely lost them do you think? (Most owners that I know would have got a copy vet's record or given you the name of the vet so that you or a new vet could check up yourself.)

I'm just wondering, maybe a little cynically, whether the shots were forgotten, your two rounds were actually his first, and he picked up a flu just before you got them for him. It can happen and although the shots would suppress any symptoms, I think (and the vets who post may wish to comment) that they can then appear at times when the immune system might be under stress for some reason to do with the cat's environment. (The symptom being generally less severe, though, if I recall.)

Does he have any other symptoms?

I think she had genuinely lost them - she offered to get duplicates but we opted to give him a repeat lot as we were away at half term and he needed them for cattery. So his second round was early/mid-October.

DH's theory is that it is his aftershave (DH's, not the cat's). No other symptoms.

Could maybe be an allergy, I guess. Has DH got a new aftershave? (Although allergies can suddenly start for no reason.)

Perhaps get him to stop wearing it and see how it goes after a few days?
