Little cat related story

I just thought I would share something that happened to us the other day with two of our cats, it turned out to be very lovely indeed.

Our old lady cat who is 19, doesn't go out much anymore, she mainly stays on the bed sleeping the day away. She NEVER uses the cat flap and never goes out the back garden, if she does go out she goes out the front. The other day we had some large deliveries, and she absolutely freaked out. She ran straight out the cat flap into the back garden and ran straight up a tree and over the fence.

Needless to say, at this point, I was freaking out, with her being so old I was worried she had fallen or done herself damage. Since we have had her, i'd never seen her do anything like this.

One of our other cats, fluffy girl, witnessed all of this, and ran after her. OH went out the back and was calling old lady cat, and went out the back corridor bit that joins all of the houses and gardens, calling her name. Nothing.

Until fluffy girl started going mental at one of the neighbours back garden gates. We were calling old lady cat , but couldn't see her, so moved on to the next gate. Fluffy girl jumped on the fence and preceded to HIT my OH on the head several times until he turned back around and fluffy girl led OH back to the previous gate where old lady cat was hiding under a bush just in the neighbours back garden. We managed to coax her out, I think she was a bit shaken, but she was totally fine.

I was just so astonished at our fluffy girl and the fact that she was telling us where to find old lady cat. Needless to say she was rewarded with some lovely chicken. Old lady cat had some too. Black boy slept through the the whole thing. Lazy arse.

it's mad isn't it, how much they can communicate. Our fluffy cat gets the older one to open doors and cupboards for her. she has a try first then heads off to find the old girl, brings her to door and sits down whilst the other one opens it for her.

what a lovely story i dont know if any of mine would do this, used to have a border collie who was a lot older than the cairn terrorist and when heidi got old and deaf and couldnt see very well if she got behind us on a walk we used to say to skips go get heidi and he did he would run back to her and stay with her till she caught up with us, she was 17 and he was 15 when they both eventually went to the bridge
