Cat doesn't appear to drink any water.

I've never seen her drink from her water dish. She has access to clean, fresh water all the time but I don't think she drinks much at all. Should I be concerned?
Apart from a bout of cystitis last winter, she's a healthy young cat. We changed from dry to wet food then on vet's advice.

She does eat the wet food, it's in a jelly so maybe she's getting moisture from that?

My cats won't touch their water bowls, but they'll drink out of taps, glasses and the bath given half the chance!

My vet told me that people see cats as small dogs and therefore expect prolonged slurping at the bowl

I agree with what everone has said about rainwater, moving water, wet food etc.

Vet also told me that you're better off putting a cat's bowl away from their food (for some reason)

... I see Gerund has already mentioned that

My brother moved his cats water bowl away from the food bowl and suddenly the cat started drinking water... You could try that?!

I'm sure your cat gets enough water though... Sounds a lot like my cats who never seem to drink water from their bowls but happily drink from my glass, the kitchen tap, the bath, the shower head if its dripping. Actually found one of my cats drinking out the toilet once when my DH left the lid up and didn't shut the door AngryGrin

Our cats didn't seem to be drinking enough water, being on dried food. We started giving them boiled, cooled, water, which they seem to prefer.
