Moved home, cat gone missing :(

We moved home and kept him in against his will for two weeks. He was quite hyper during this time. I wasn't sure to keep him in for 2 or 3 weeks but he seemed like he really wanted out so I just opened the window last night and out he popped. I was expecting him to sniff about the front garden and sniff about the back but no... He hopped out, just looked around for a few seconds, ran down our bath to the back of the house where we do have a good size garden but then it also backs on to a very busy road. Me and my partner had watched him at the front then ran to the kitchen which is at the back to see what mishief he was going to get up to. By the time we got to kitchen he was gone! Nowhere to be seen. I went out with treats and shook the bag and he didnt come :( Still not back. What should I do? Do you think he knows where his home is?

Fluffy- where is Hiddens thread? I didn't know another had gone missing.
Hope there's another happy ending.

My cat is now fast asleep in his furry bed :)

steppemum · 04/11/2013 20:50

brilliant!

I love the way they go really cuddly when they have missed you!

So pleased he came back, probably got stuck because it was an unfamiliar place he got stuck in, he won't make that mistake again!

velcro cat - yes, ours does this hen we come home from holiday. Doesn't usually sleep on our bed but sat outside the door and howled until we let him in, and then sat right up between us and purred (and drooled) all night.

Nice to be loved Grin (and dh didn't through him out, even though it is his allergies than ban him from the bed!)

steppemum · 04/11/2013 22:36

through?? throw

Auntidote · 04/11/2013 22:46

Oh wonderful!

One of mine went missing after I moved and I thought I'd never see him again. Put up posters, did fliers, got lots of phone calls (black and white cats are very common) but no joy.

I had pretty much decided he had found an old lady to love him when he just appeared one night at bed time. He was thin but fine and had been gone for 6 weeks. He is busy eating all the weight back on now. The other cat was So Pissed Off he was back: it was rather funny really.

Fantastic news!!! Woo hoo.

Huntercat got locked in our OWN garage the other night by wandering in when DH was putting his bike away in the dark.

I keep trying to break it to him, you are a dark tabby .. you are invisible in the dark shadows. We are humans. We have pathetic night vision. DH has no awareness of stuff happening around him anyway. Moderate your garage visits accordingly. Etc.

DrHolmes · 05/11/2013 20:06

Haha love, I know! My cat is black so will have to sit him down and explain that humans cant always see him! Haha cats are great.

Mine is sleeping on the back of the sofa right beside me :)
