Does your cat does weird things like mine ?

I have this cat, I love her even if most of the time she doesn't give the love back. You see, she can behave like a bit of madame during the day and only comes home when she needs a nap or a snack...

At night, it's a complete different story, She likes sleeping on my bed and I have nothing against it. The thing that I find a bit weird and funny is the way she shows her affection. She puts her face straight is my face moving from one of my cheeck to the other and sometimes drooling on me (yuk), her front legs are on each side on my neck and she puts her claws in (you know how cats do), her purring is really intense with some high pitch, it's hard to explain..it's like she was doing me ???? She did that to my husband as well but only once..and he said he felt the need to offer a cigarette afterwards when she was done ! Last night, she woke me up in the middle of the night because she was knitting my hair, her claws were in my skull !!!

Does anyone have a dysfunctional cat like me ??

Ha ha she sounds lovely, enthusiastic affection is what I have a cat for, I don't care if she's nuts. All cats are crazy anyway, in their own unique ways. Husband should be flattered to get the same treatment from her!

She's milk paddling like she would of done to her mum, so she sees you as mom.

Mine does it to me but not to dh.

she is my baby girl !! I just wish she didn't do that in the middle of the night !!

Mine does that pretty much constantly apart from when asleep through exhaustion. She luuuuuuuuuuuurves me Confused

I was under the impression you're a cat person by marriage random not by choice.

One licks me, a lot, whenever he is nearby he has to have a lick but mainly first thing for up to about half an hour. The other now supervises bedtime with ds, every night she sits by me while I feed him then comes back downstairs after.

Indeed Fluffy I am - but I am her #1 choice Confused I often refer to her as velcro cat she never tires from following me around and sitting on me and luffing me at every opportunity...

I don't particularly enjoy the paws around neck and nuzzling, even dh agrees it's a bit much especially when she launches herself at you across the room in order to achieve it!

Sparkling Cat won't sit on laps at all.

But once we are in bed she wants loads of cuddles. YY to the dribbling and the loudest purr ever. She does it to me and DH every night.

She climbs up the bed and bops my head with hers then rolls about lying on my chest wanting a massive fuss. Sometimes we get eyebrow licking and face stroking with her paws. Confused

If I let ours sleep in our bed she will curl up around my head a gently expand so she gradually steals the pillow, then paddle her paws on my scalp and suck my hair. This is why she's not allowed on our bed. I have no desire for hair that smells like cat breath!

Grey puss does the kneading thing too and declines to sit in laps much to dh's despair. Black cat will actually lie on any part of you. If you are lying sideways hell perch on your hip.
Both if them vie for pole position on the bed . It's a rare and glorious day if they both hop up between me and dh.
Sparkle cat's a grey too isn't she sparkling?

One of mine likes to sit in front of me and give me his paw , I haven't a clue what to do with it Confused

My other (Maine Coon) likes to scare visitors as he looks fairly averaged sized , so when he goes up to them & stretches up on to them then growls , he is easily as big as my 4yo when he shows his real size

Grey cat is now pricking dh's leg and licking her lips. This is semaphore for "give me some feckin Dreamies now on the kitchen table because I am too important to eat them orf the floor from a bowl"

I have a lovely - well most of the time - 6 year old ginger and white Tom.

He has a very annoying habit of gently biting any part of me that is sticking out of the bed.

Also he sprays on anything that is left lying on the floor, despite being shouted at repeatedly.

Any suggestions?

No, not clothes - shopping bags, violin case, CD rack amongst others.

He never actually pees on things, just sprays

Yes fluffy, and our cat is the master. You don't even realise she's done it til you notice the crick in your neck! Trying to remove her is difficult - she has some amazing super power of making herself go really heavy so you can't lift her up. From the look she's giving me now she knows I'm on to her talking about her! Grin

Spray is wee as far as I know, so it sounds like mainly things that have come from outside of the home and don't smell right to him?

Fluffy - he does a little wiggle of his bum and sprays a little, not a full-scale pee if you get what I mean.

Also I've shouted and pushed him away when he does it so I guess he realises it's wrong and I'm not happy about it but he still persists in doing it,

I don't think shouting works, all his instincts tell him to spray. Is he neutered? Otherwise the only option is to not to put things where he can spray.

If you wash the area he's sprayed with either plain soapy water or water and bio washing powder that helps because your first instinct is to get disinfectants or bleach out, both of these smell like ammonia to cats and encourage spraying.

You can't use bio powder on wool or silk though, the enzymes destroy the fabric.
