Kittens weeing on the sofa...

Hi, my mum has 2 new kittens which I think are about 12 weeks old.

She is having problems with them weeing on the sofas. They will poo in the litter tray but they go to one of the sofas to wee.

Any suggestions on getting them trained to use the tray?

Get her to get another tray, Mrs, as a start, even though they're little. They often don't like peeing and pooing in the same place.

Cats should have one tray each plus one extra, especially when they are still very young. Keep the trays as clean as possible. Keep one tray very near the sofa theyre using to start off with and as they gt used to it gradually move it towards where you finall want it o be. If the kittens are caught peeing on the sofa do not shout or scold just pick them up and mob them straight to the tray. Getting loud with them will just increase stress levels making them more likely to pee in bad places. Scrub the cushions down as soon as it happens so it doesn't smell like them. If the problem persists for more than a week with no progress it might be worth a trip to the vets in case one or both has a urinary tract problem.

And she needs to use something to remove the scent. Pets at home sell carpet and furniture cleaner that allegedly removes the scent.
