Cats and flea treatment

I have a one year old cat and was wondering if I have to use flea treatment every month on her. She does not have any fleas at the moment but I was using Eliminall Spot-On For Cats but have ran out. My vet thinks I should use Advantage supplied by them but the Eliminall is a lot cheaper on line but is this because it's not as good maybe? Thanks for any views on this.

Elininall has the same active ingredient as Frontline so you should factor the concerns about Frontline's effectiveness in to your thoughts.

Thanks Lonecat I have just been reading on here that some people think Frontline is becoming ineffective. It's the vet treatment then I suppose.
