Cat bad breath

One of my DC went to bed last night and winter boy was fast asleep on the quilt. It resulted in one of them calling me and asking to move him as apparently "his face stinks of poo".

My only thought could be that they mean his breath. So I think a vets trip is in order just for a look over. I've not smelled anything myself and he's often sat with me and I can't check at the moment because he's already gone out on his morning jolly.

He's eating and drinking fine. Maybe sleeping a bit more but he's definitely not off his food.

I'm wondering if he's got toothache? Are there any other symptoms to watch out for to do with bad teeth? Or could he just have bad breath?

What colour are his teeth TheWinter? Sparkling cat had a dental last month and bad breath is gone. Smile

I've no idea Sparkling - he's darted out this morning. I'm awaiting his return to check. But I've no idea when that is. He's been very miowey this morning too which is a bit strange for him because he's not normally very vocal.

Try and look but I would imagine he needs a scale and polish like Sparkling Cat did. Done under GA.

Thanks Sparkling. I'll have a look when he gets back. :)

Most probably gingivitis. A trip to the vet is definitely called for.
