Where do your cats sleep?

Mine has a basket but rarely goes in it. She either sleeps on DS bed or on outside furniture in the day.
If she hears the Hoover she buries herself under a pillow so her ears are covered.
At night she sometimes sleeps on the sofa but mostly next to DS.

Stop the press! SmoothCat discovered last night that DD1 has an electric blanket! So he was discovered by DH under the duvet lying along DD1's legs, roasting happily away Grin

Athena sleeps on top of the fridge for some unknown reason, or on the windowsill for the most part. Gizmo sleeps in an old toybox in the kitchen or right outside our door so if you get up in the night, you are likely to trip over him Hmm

An electric blanket is a sure fire inducement when the weather turns.

She goes through weird phases. At the moment it's on a particular cushion on the sofa. In fact she hardly moves from there. A few weeks ago she was obsessive about sleeping/lying/sitting on a plastic charity bag which is by the front door and full of stuff I keep meaning to take to the Heart Foundation. She's refusing to come upstairs at the moment, whereas before, she always used to sleep on the bed.

Nowt so queer as cats.

Oh and of course there's the doormat by the back door. Makes it a bit awkward when you actually want to go through the door and she's simply giving you a fuck-off stare and not moving.

Cat1 - elderly (17) and quite needy
Cat2 - spritely and a bit naughty (6)

During the day when we're at home - both anywhere, usually on the sofas

Night time / During the day when we're at work - Cat1 in his fluffy bed, on his armchair, in the kitchen. He has to be shut in the kitchen because he gets a bit shouty and can start spraying for no obvious reason if left to his own devices. He is calmer in the kitchen when there's no one at home.
Cat2, usually on the living room armchair or on my bed.

Was reminded last night that when I'm more-ill-than-usual my cats sleep right outside my door, draught-excluder style. And squeak to me any time they hear me moving about to check I'm ok. Is terribly cute.

Wherever he's sleeping, if I have to get up in the night, blond!cat will get up too & accompany me to & from my room. He has the cutest little half-asleep slightly-stumbly walk...

I forgot to say once my old cat had a habit of sleeping in our wardrobe when it's hot. We were packing to go back to the UK & DH carried out our large black suitcase. We were worried about our kgs allowance & were going to weigh the cash. Dh said this case weighs a ton & there's nothing in it. As he walked across the room old 5 kgs cat fell out. She was a bit shocked.

Daytime she goes out or sleeps on the seat pad on one of the kitchen chairs under the table so hidden from little people.

Nighttime she sleeps on the top of the chair that the dog sleeps on. They're best friends Grin

Oh and my other cat sleeps on top of my neighbours' wardrobe Hmm Grin

ICameOnTheJitney · 08/10/2013 12:16

Under the duvet between DH and I. Hmm

BerylStreep · 08/10/2013 12:25

Downstairs in the kitchen, either on the sofa, on the gas stove which has a pilot light, a hammock thing on their perch, or on a seat pad.

When DH is away they sleep under the duvet with me, stretched out their full length. They also cuddle up to the DC in bed in the evenings or under a blanket on my knee.
