Excessive licking?

I had my female spayed this week and was told to keep an eye on the amount of licking she does near her wound. If it's excessive I'm to take her back for a bustier. How do I know if she's licking it excessively? I mean she licks herself a lot anyway - she's very clean obviously - as cats are.

Unless you see her licking away specifically at her wound then I wouldn't worry. They mean sort of worrying away at it rather than incorporating it into her general washing regime.

Thanks for the reply :) I've noticed her licking it but also other parts of her body so doing it more so through a routine wash than actually focusing on the one point.

Sounds OK - as TCN said, they're concerned about an obsessive/ 'worrying' sort of licking not a licking during the course of general grooming. Trust me, you would recognize the former pretty quickly.
