I can fit another cat in, can't I?

Celia wants me to take another cat as he's going to have trouble getting a home and the centre is of course bursting at the seams. His name is Simon - scroll half way down the page to see him: www.celiahammond.org/index.php?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=9&MMN_position=16:16

He's such a sweetie. Come and tell me 21 cats isn't too much ... :)

Just catching up - so glad Simon has got his paws under your table! He is one lucky cat. On a slightly different note, I am about to take on an adorable 8 yr old dog as his owners have a terminally-ill child in another country - hope he copes OK with my 5 cats and 18 month old dog-fear-aggressive dog. Wish me luck! Enjoy your holiday.

Good luck with the shampooing. Suppose at least you don't have to do all 21 of them...

I can't believe it. Simon the cat has just died. He was doing really well until two days ago - eating really well and seeming really happy. The last couple of days he's been off his food a bit and I was intending to take him to see the vet tomorrow. But I've just come home and found him dead. May be a heart attack - we really don't know.

It's so sad. Just as he was starting to do well and was getting better and had a home and someone to love him, probably for the first time in years. And then he goes and dies. I'm so upset.

So sorry TCN. He was an old boy wasn't he? And you gave him a time of being in a new home with a loving person which matters a lot.

It's still not easy, I know. My darling Oneago dropped dead one morning at only 8 years old - no warning at all, so he probably had a heart attack or a serious stroke. Very hard.

Sad

I'm so sorry lovely...

Thing is, he was able to die in a safe loving home & that's an incredible gift to have given him. Is sucktacular he didn't get to have that longer, but he will have died a Happy Cat & that's a huge thing.

Aw that's very sad but as the others have said, he died happy and feeling safe and that does mean so much.

Thanks both. Yes he was old we think. It's just so sad. I must have had over 50 deaths over the ten years or so I've been doing this, may be more. But it doesn't get easier. Particularly when it just seems so, so unfair.

Poor Simon.

I'm so sorry TCN! :(

But thankfully you gave him a loving home for his last couple of weeks.

It isn't easy because you are awesome, so you care deeply about the cats you care for. With Simon The Cat I guess it'll hit extra hard because it came from nowhere & you were planning things for his future.

Be gentle with yourself lovely.

Well that was badly-written. I blame the flujab...

I'm so sorry TCN Thanks. Just when he seemed to have the chance of a long pampered old age! But he was loved and cared for in his last few weeks and it would have been so, so much worse for him if he had died on the streets with his wound untreated.

Take care

So sorry he has gone, but so glad he was warm, fed, loved and surrounded by feline friends.

Yes. He died when he'd made it home to a safe port. Good on the old fella.
