Just taken my kittens for their first outside explore and they haven't left the garden which is good but now they won't come back in!

No amount of bowl bashing is working and they haven't had their breakfast yet -do I just leave then to play out?

try putting some biscuits in a plastic tub and shaking it always works with mine or putting thier bowl of food just inside the open door and if they come to eat nab them then

I have a sound I make which lets them know it's dinner time. If you make the sound every time you feed them while they are young they will know what it means and come running in when they are older.

How old are they?

Personally, I'd grab 'em and put them back inside. I'd rather not be here at 10 o'clock worrying about foxes.

They are 6 months but I kept them in until they were chipped and neutered

In the house they always come running when they hear their food -I thought they were trained!

They've come in now, I just left the back door open and I think they must have heard the fridge when I made a coffee!

Good - but I'd be fairly careful. You won't want them out overnight for example. (Too dangerous for cats.)
