Cat peeing on same spot on sofa

I am worried about my two cats. One of them (we can't tell which) has been peeing on the sofa regularly. It started when my daughter was about four months old, so two months ago.

It's always in the same spot, the bit where my partner normally sits. We took them to the vet who said it was stress-related. We bought one of those Feliway diffusers and have been trying to spend plenty of time with the cats. I've bought a spray from Pets at Home that says it will completely remove the smell.

Can anyone think of anything else we can try? They don't seem unhappy in any other way.

Thank you.

Please take your cat back to the vet, a change in toileting habits can be because of stress or an illness, older cats are susceptible to UTIs which can be fatal if left untreated, and cats are very good at not showing when they are poorly. Best to get some tests done and have that ruled out.

No problem, hope kitty is ok and it is something you can sort easily.
Fwiw I found feliway to be useless with my two, they get very stressed at harvest time (we're very rural so the combines are constant and noisy), managed to solve it by leaving one door to the wardrobe open so they have a dark and quiet place to escape to. They'll come out for food, litter time and hugs on their terms feeling much happier and no longer ripping up the carpets and peeing by the shoe rack!
