They've been out all day for a few weeks. They're always a bit reluctant to come in at night and why wouldn't they be? Big, quiet farm to explore in the dark! However, they have been coming home...until now. Early evening I was sitting with my neighbour on the front step having a drink. They were having a lovely time - but only Millie, the tortie girl came in for tea.

I know he's probably ok...but I am so worried. There are vile, loud foxes round here. FUCK!!!!!!!!! What do I do if he doesn't come home before I need to go to bed? Just leave the catflap open? He's cracked it so he can force it back open when it's locked!!! FUCKING HELL!!!! Sad

It's not late, its very hot, I bet he's on an adventure

Keep calling every now and then and yes, leave your flap open phnar phnar

Idiot! Smile
Yes, you're right - cats don't have FUCKING watches I suppose. I'm just worried cos they've never been out after dark. Fuck knows how i'll keep the other one in. And I feel an utter twat calling "Scabbers!!!!"

I bet 10.30-11 he'll come back.

try not to panic. they can smell fear.

MexicanHat · 04/09/2013 21:53

Oh it's horrible when they don't come back when you're expecting them.

He'll just be out exploring - he'll be home when he's hungry.....

GetStuffezd · 04/09/2013 22:04

The BASTARD is back. He came in - I crept towards the door and he dived out!!! It took a fucking age to get him back in and he promptly turned his nose up at his dinner and vomited up grass. He is not happy and I feel very sad.

Glad he is back. I did this, panicked over my lovely lille not coming home, asked for handholding on here while i wailed, and in she walked, cool as a cucumber!

can i ask Why do you feel very sad? Ginge is a typical cat, off adventuring and not giving a stuff about the trauma experienced at home by their slave :)

You and me both. I've just moved, so not let them out in new place yet. Am terrified!

mineofuselessinformation · 04/09/2013 22:23

Tchah! They be back quick enough when the nights start to get a bit colder.......

Lonecatwithkitten · 05/09/2013 12:57

My trick is Dreamies at bedtime. The routine is at 10pm dog oes out for wee. Dog and cats come in. Dog gets gravy bone, cats get four Dreamies each. It actually started as dog was busy barking at hedgehogs and wouldn't come so need some enticement.

They are now all there lined up at 10.05pm looking expectantly at me, god help me if I ever run out and forget to buy moreWink.

cozietoesie · 05/09/2013 13:03

There's some weird jealousy thing goes on with dogs and cats over food which I've never quite worked out. They can get on like a house on fire but lord help you if a cat thinks that the dog is putting one over on them in the food stakes.

Very useful at times!

I swear they do this just to freak is out!! I get frantic if I can't find them after a few hrs.

Caught one little bugger outside my Dsis's house, 3 blocks away at 2am. We had an awkward exchange at both of us being stop-outs and he took off in the other direction. Back at home you'd have thought it never happened and we avoided eye contact. Grin

Hilarious, fackinell!!! Grin
I was a bit drama llama-ish last night, but I was feeling sad as I've had him since he was so small he would curl up in my top and sleep! Now he's all grown up...sniff sniff! Blush I am lucky really to be so rural. They're clearly happy here.

Awww you are lucky Smile
My boy's holiday home is in the countryside with his Gran. He loves it!! I couldn't catch him to get him home last time. Sat up a tree giving me cattitude. Grin
